The “Bush Tour of LIFE”
DAY 1
ARRIVAL: NAIROBI
After arranging your own flights
from home, you arrive into Nairobi’s Jomo Kenya International
Airport where you will be assisted through the immigration and
customs formalities by our Representative and transferred to
your Nairobi Hotel. Over night at the Stanley Hotel on BB basis
at your Hotel.
Day
2
NAIROBI- FEEDING PROGRAMME, KAREN BLIXEN, GIRAFFE CENTRE
Wake up call will be arranged for all participants. Breakfast
will be served at our hotel followed by a programme orientation
meeting with the Tour Director. This is also the time that all
those with materials for Donations to various groups will present
them for logistical preparations.
(After
the meeting, we drive through the streets of Nairobi heading
North-West to Kibera/Woodley to the Afrika Awake School and
Community feeding Centre. Kibera is actually the largest Slum
dwelling area in a City in Africa with over half a million poor
inhabitant. Visit and meet with those families that are supported
and work with Afrika Awake Foundation on its Education, Community
and School feeding programmes in Kibera and Woodley areas of
Nairobi. Lunch will be prepared with the help of the participants
and we shall all have lunch together. We shall then present
all the donation materials to the children and community there
after saying goodbye to them and head to Karen Blixen Museum
and the Giraffe Center, with a stop at the Utamanduni Art craft
Centre. We shall return to the Hotel in time to prepare for
the groups Welcome Dinner at the Hotel. Overnight at the Hotel
on DBB.
DAY
3
NAIROBI/COFFEE FARMS /MT.KENYA
After an early breakfast, we depart for the highlands north
of Nairobi to the Limuru coffee and tea plantations area of
Kibubuti( Valentine Growers). We visit and enjoy lunch with
one of the pioneer tea and Coffee growing Kenyan families. After
lunch departing for Mount Kenya through the central Kenya we
get to view Kikuyu traditional and modern farmlands, arriving
at the Mount Kenya forest later in the evening to check in for
dinner and at Mountain Lodge Tree hotel. We shall get an opportunity
to view African Wildlife coming to water and lick salt at the
floodlit waterhole. Overnight at the lodge on DBB basis.
DAY
4
NANYUKI SPINNERS/SWEETWATERS/CHIMPANZEE AND RHINOS SACTUARY
After a cool mountainous morning breakfast with a possible clear
view of Kenya’s Highest Mountain (Mount Kenya), we depart
for the Northern part of Kenya, stopping at the Equator for
a photo session; we proceed to the Nanyuki Spinners, a Women
Self Help project assisting the women from the Nanyuki Township
area to support themselves. We visit the Wool spinning factory
and the nearby school, donating some stationery and other materials;
we get to view the finished products in the group’s shop.
Lunch will be awaiting us at the Sweet Waters Ranch. Later in
the afternoon a visit to the only Chimpanzee Sanctuary in Kenya
and the Adjacent Rhino and injured Animal’s Sanctuary
is scheduled, followed by a leisurely game viewing run within
the ranch. Returning to our camp for dinner and an African Folkloric
Campfire session.
Overnight at the Sweet waters Camp on LDBB basis.
DAY
5
SWEETWATERS /SAMBURU /BUFALLO SPRINGS
Depart for an early morning game viewing run, retuning to the
Camp for a quick breakfast. Thereafter we shall depart for the
Northern Kenya driving on the leeward side of Mount Kenya.,
descending into the Lowland dry scrubland of Samburu. This region
is home to the Nilo-Suodanic and Afro-Asiatic linguistic group
of Samburu, Rendille and the Turkana as well as Somali and Borana
nomadic groups. We will get to view Northern Wildlife species
like the Reticulated Giraffes and the Grevy Zebras as well as
the Oryx and Somali Ostrich not forgetting the elegant Gerenuk
on our way to the lodge. Lunch will be awaiting us at our lodge.
After lunch, a leisurely rest by the pool, or walk around the
lodge interacting with the famous and friendly Black faced vervet
monkeys and the crocodiles lazily basking on the banks of the
Ewaso Nyiro River. Afternoon game viewing, to discover the abundance
of Kenya’s northern wildlife habitats. View the African
Sunset by the volcanic lava view point. Dinner and overnight
at the lodge on LDBB basis.
DAY
6
SAMBURU/ BUFALLO SPRINGS GAME RESERVES/COMMUNITY PROJECTS
Wake up to the calls and songs of the African birdlife and Serene
cool morning dawn for an early morning game viewing run. Possible
encounters with late hunters as well as viewing the daily Animal
movements from the safe higher ground to avoid predatation.
Best timing for active animal photo shots. Returning to the
lodge for a well deserved breakfast. We will be visiting the
local communities on this day in their original homestead or
villages. Departing with our donation materials, we shall drive
through the park viewing game on the way to Archers Post area
of Samburu National Reserve. Exiting the reserve, we shall get
a full view of Samburu village dwellings and their dry area
adapted livestock. Visiting with the villager here we get to
see and experience one of the Afrika Awake supported schools.
We get to assist with the school feeding programmes’ lunch
preparation and feeding of the children. Returning to our lodge
for lunch for those that will not have had lunch with the school
kids. In the later afternoon, a finale game run is scheduled
with a sundowner cocktail before returning to the lodge for
dinner and overnight on LDBB basis.

8
THOMSON FALL/RIFT VALLEY/LAKE Nakuru
After an early breakfast, depart for the Rift valley through
the Thomason fall (photo stop). then continue to Lake Nakuru
National Park famous as the home to thousands of lesser and
greater flamingo. This park also provides sanctuary for Rothschild
Giraffe, Rhino and Leopard as well as other Animals. It is the
only Park in the Country with an electrified fence all around
it. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge. Afternoon games
drive until sunset. All meals and overnight at Lake Nakuru Lion
Hills Lodge on LDBB.
DAY 8
LAKE BOGORIA /Lake Baringo
Depart after breakfast and drive through the Agricultural town
of Nakuru. This region is regarded as the bread basket of Kenya.
We shall have a quick gamne drive at the Lake Bogorial National
Reserve to view the hot water springs (Geysers) and the abundance
of pink flamingos. Proceed to Lake Baringo for lunch, take some
time off to enjoy the beautiful grounds by the club. We shall
depart for a fellowship visit with the local Community viewing
their Projects such as the Women Self help bee keeping programmes,
and the fishing activities as well as the snake museum set up
by the community. A smooth afternoon boat ride awaits us upon
return to the Club. Dinner and overnight at the Club on LDBB
DAY
8
KERICHO HIGLANDS/KERICHO TEA PLANTATIONS
After an early breakfast, we drive South- West through the highlands
of the Rift Valley with the lush Kericho Tea plantations on
wither sides of the road. Arrive in time for early lunch at
the beautiful Kenricho Tea Hotel. In the afternoon, a visit
to the adjacent Tea Palntion and tea factory is scheduled with
some fellowship time with the tea pickers. Returning to the
Hotel for our evening devotion. Dinner and overnight at the
hotel on LDBB Basis

8
KERICHO/KISII/MASAI MARA.
After an early breakfast, we drive through the Kisii hills passing
via Kilgoris into Masai Mara, where we shall arrive for lunch
at the Mara Serena Lodge. Afternoon game viewing run is scheduled
on this day. Dinner and overnight at our camp on LDBB basis.

9
FULL DAY MASAI MARA
Wake up call is arranged for everybody (to undertake one of
the beautiful sessions in game runs) Early morning game drive.
This will take us to time for breakfast after which we have
the rest of day at leisure until the afternoon for the final
game viewing run in Masai Mara. Dinner and overnight at our
camp on LDBB basis.
DAY 10
MASAI MARA / LAKE NAIVASHA-CRESCENT ISALND / ELSAMERE/ HORTICULTRAL/FLORICULTURE
After an early breakfast, we drive through the Masai MARA Game
Reserve via Narok to Lake NAIVASHA this is fresh water and Kenya’s
highest lake (at over 6000FT above sea level). After lunch,
we shall enjoy the lodge ground at leisure, Visiting the Elsa
Mere, former home of the ADOMSONS (JOY AND GEORGE ADOMSONS)
and the adjacent flower and vegetable farms later in the afternoon,
a boat ride and a visit to the crescent Island for one hour
walk on the Island(The Crescent Island is the scene of the shooting
of the movie OUT OF AFRICA ) , retuning to the lodge for dinner
and overnight on LDBB basis.
DAY 11
NAIROBI/ AMBOSESLI
After breakfast, depart for Amboseli through Nairobi, to arrive
for Lunch at our lodge. Afternoon game viewing with hopes of
capturing the snows of Africa’s highest Mountain. Amboseli
is the theme setting of Ernest Hemmingway’s book (Snows
of Kilimanjaro); we will get to view first hand the elaborate
animal movement from the lowland swamps to the solid high grounds
to avoid predators and the destruction coursed by wildlife and
weather changes to the ecosystem in Amboseli. Dinner and overnight
at our lodge on LDBB basis.
DAY 12
AMBOSELI N.P/KIMANA ECHO-TOURISM COMMUNITY PROJECTS
Early morning game viewing with chances of capturing the snowcapped
Kilimanjaro. Amboseli National park is home to the most advanced
Elephant research ever carried out in AFRICA. Cynthia Moss has
carried out research on various families of elephants in this
area since 1975. She has written book and done documentaries
most recent vivid being the ECHOS OF THE ELPHANTS. We shall
return for breakfast and thereafter depart for the Kimana Community
Echo-Tourism Projects. Visiting with these groups, we shall
have lunch at Amboseli Sopa Lodge and return to Amboseli National
Park for the Afternoon game viewing ending with a Bush dinner
at Amboseli Serena and overnight on DBB basis.
DAY
13
MONDAY- NAIROBI/ HOME BOUND FLIGHT.We depart after
after breakfast returning to Nairobi where we have rest of day
at lesisure. A day room will be available for us and a farewell
dinner at the Carnivore Restaurant. Transfer to the JKIA for
your flight homebound.
